Fred Berman’s photographs are consistently elegant in form and beautiful in surface and texture and color. He uses windows and doors as framing elements, and treats people as objects in the composition rather than subjects. Retired from teaching at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, Berman’s primary artistic medium is painting. His photographs usually relate to his travels. - Gift of the artist
